Production, purification and characterization of macromolecular complexes


PROGRAM

Courses will start on Monday November 26th at 09:00 a.m. and finish on Saturday December 1st at noon.

Lectures:

  • "Fast screening for expression of difficult proteins in stable insect and mammalian cell lines"

Joop van den Heuvel (Helmholtz Center for Infection Research, Braunschweig, Germany)

  • "Overview of biophysical assays"

Vladimir Rybin (EMBL, Heidelberg, Germany)

 

  • "Transient expression in mammalian cells using a highly attenuated vaccinia vector virus"

Robert Drillien (IGBMC, Illkirch, France)

 

Practicals:

 

  • Biophysical characterization of proteins by Isothermal Titration Calorimetry (ITC) and Analytical Ultra-Centrifugation (AUC)
  • Fermentor culture 
  • Production of protein in baculovirus and purification
  • Production of complex in E. coli and purification
  • TAP purification of yeast protein complexes

 

 

This may include participant's samples whenever possible.
